Salzburg University
University of Music "Mozarteum"
The university of music in Salzburg is called "Mozarteum". By this title Salzburg wants to honor it's most famous son.
The university was founded in 1841 as music school. The university
received the high school status in 1970, and it's status for an
university of music and descriptive art in 1998.
Paracelsus Medical Privat University
The private university was created in 1999, and named according to the
medic Paracelsus who died in Salzburg. The university was financially
supported by several private investors, the federal government of
Salzburg, and Dietrich Mateschitz (Red Bull). The study activities
started in September 2003.
